About Me
I'm a fitness trainer and nutrition coach in low country South Carolina. I specialize in senior wellness and I'm a 65+ senior myself. I trained and competed as a national class distance runner for 20 years and represented the United States in international track and field. I've trained as a martial artist and have also worked as a group fitness instructor. I draw from these experiences in the programs I develop for my clients.
Many trainers focus on a single aspect of exercise, such as weightlifting or yoga. I feel nutrition and exercise are equally important to achieving optimum wellness. Seniors tend to neglect nutrition which increases their risk for cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes and osteoporosis. As a nutition coach, I'm prepared to deliver macronutrient programming, behavioral change reinforcement and results tracking to keep my clients on course.
Over the years I've seen the best and worst of sports medicine and conventional post-op rehab outcomes as I've dealt with the consequences of my own injuries. I've had shoulder surgery, a hip replacement, 2 hernia repairs and a torn bicep tendon. Staying dialed into the top accredited corrective exercise curriculums through continuing education, and following these methodologies in my own rehab journey has been extremely valuable to me.
